About Umbrella Mediation
Umbrella Mediation provides private Family Dispute Resolution services for parents and families seeking timely, practical outcomes. The practice is designed to offer prompt access to mediation, clear processes, and professional support at a time when certainty and structure matter.
Umbrella Mediation is based in Cairns and operates Australia-wide by Zoom, allowing parties to participate regardless of location. Face-to-face mediations are available anywhere in Australia, subject to agreement.
The service is delivered by Neil Worsley, an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, working in accordance with the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth). The practitioner’s role is to remain neutral, manage the mediation process, and assist parties to communicate, identify issues, and explore options. The practitioner does not provide legal advice or make decisions for the parties.
Umbrella Mediation is committed to a child-focused, respectful approach that recognises the complexity of family separation. Each matter begins with confidential intake appointments conducted separately, allowing for assessment of suitability, safety, and preparation for mediation.
The practice prioritises clear communication, confidentiality, and efficiency, with the aim of assisting parties to move forward with greater clarity about their options and next steps.
