Fees
Umbrella Mediation offers private Family Dispute Resolution services with clear and transparent pricing. Fees are explained upfront so clients can make informed decisions about the process.
Services are offered Australia-wide by Zoom. Face-to-face mediations are available anywhere in Australia, subject to agreement.
All fees are inclusive of GST, unless otherwise stated.
Intake Appointments
Each party attends a private intake appointment prior to any mediation session. Intake appointments are conducted separately and are required to assess suitability, safety, and preparation. Attendance at intake does not guarantee that mediation will proceed.
Intake appointment (45 minutes): $280 per person
Mediation Fees (Zoom – Australia-wide)
Mediation fees are total fees for the session and are usually shared equally between the parties unless otherwise agreed.
2-hour mediation: $1,050 total
Half-day mediation (up to 4 hours): $1,850 total
Full-day mediation (up to 8 hours): $3,250 total
Mediation fees include preparation, facilitation, and post-session administrative follow-up relevant to the mediation.
Hourly Mediation (if required)
Some matters may benefit from shorter or staged sessions.
Mediation time: $425 per hour (total, not per person)
Hourly mediation is available by agreement following intake appointments.
Shuttle Mediation
Where parties are unable to be in the same session, shuttle mediation (separate rooms) may be arranged.
Shuttle mediation: an additional 15% applies to the mediation fee.
Section 60I Certificates
Umbrella Mediation is provided by an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. Section 60I certificates may be issued in relation to parenting matters where appropriate and in accordance with legislative requirements.
Section 60I certificate (administration fee only): $120 per person
Certificates are not automatic and cannot be issued solely on request.
Invitations to Participate
Where one party has not yet engaged, Umbrella Mediation can issue a formal invitation to participate in Family Dispute Resolution.
Invitation to participate: $150
Priority and Short-Notice Appointments
Where urgent appointments are required, priority scheduling may be available subject to practitioner availability.
Priority or short-notice surcharge: 10–20%, confirmed in advance
